The Legal Bit
Privacy Policy
Last updated October 22, 2026
This policy explains what happens to your information when you use andycomedy.com, the official website of comedian Andy Steinberg. It is written to describe what the site actually does — not to cover every possibility in the abstract.
The short version
- We collect an email address only if you hand one over — by joining the mailing list, joining a waitlist for a show, or sending a message.
- This site does not use cookies, advertising pixels, or cross-site trackers.
- We never sell, rent or trade your information.
- You can leave the mailing list at any time, from any email we send.
What we collect, and why
| What | When | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Email address | You join the mailing list or a show waitlist | To tell you about tour dates, on-sales, podcast episodes and merch |
| The show you joined a waitlist for | You join a waitlist | So an on-sale email about Chicago only goes to people who asked about Chicago |
| Name, email address, message and the enquiry type you pick | You use the contact form | So Andy’s team can read and reply |
| Shipping and payment details | You buy merch | To take payment and send your order. Payment is handled entirely by Square — card numbers never reach this site |
Counting clicks, without tracking you
We count how many people click through to a venue’s ticket page, open a waitlist, or visit the shop. These are counts only: a number per link, per week. No cookie is set, no identifier is stored, nothing is recorded about who clicked or where they came from, and the numbers can never be traced back to an individual.
Links out to ticket sellers carry a tag identifying this website as the referrer, so venues can see that a visit came from andycomedy.com. That tag says nothing about you.
Who else handles your information
We use a small number of outside services to run the site. Each one only receives what it needs to do its job:
| Service | What it handles |
|---|---|
| MailerLite | Stores the mailing list and waitlists, and sends the emails |
| Resend | Delivers contact-form messages, and forwards email sent to @andycomedy.com addresses, to Andy’s inbox |
| Square | Processes merch payments and card details |
| Vercel | Hosts the website; keeps short-lived server logs, including visitor IP addresses, for security and reliability |
| Upstash | Stores the anonymous click counts described above |
How long we keep things
- Mailing list and waitlist entries: until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove you.
- Contact messages: kept in Andy’s email as long as they are useful, in the same way as any other correspondence.
- Click counts: about thirteen months, then deleted automatically. They contain no personal information at any point.
- Order records: kept by Square as long as the law requires for tax and payment records.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe using the link at the bottom of any email we send. It takes effect immediately.
- Ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask us to delete it — email bookings@andycomedy.com and we will action it.
- You do not have to give us anything to browse the site, read tour dates, or click through to buy a ticket.
Visitors in the UK and Europe
Andy tours internationally, and this site is used by people in the UK and the EU. If you are one of them, you have the rights set out in the UK and EU General Data Protection Regulation — including access, correction, erasure, and the right to complain to your national data protection authority. Our legal basis for sending you email is your consent, given when you joined the list, and you can withdraw it at any time by unsubscribing.
The services listed above are based in the United States, which means your information is transferred there.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. Andy’s live shows are frequently 21+ or 18+, set by the venue. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.
Security
The site is served over an encrypted connection, and payment details are handled by Square rather than by us. No website can promise perfect security, but we keep the amount of information we hold deliberately small — largely because the best way to protect data is not to collect it.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes affecting the mailing list will be mentioned in an email.
